About Us
The Association of German-Ukrainian Cooperation eV Feine Ukraine is a competent group of activists that has set itself the goal of providing Ukrainian citizens with the minimum necessities of life and business. Our association was founded in 2011. For more than 8 years, we have been operating as a non-profit organization that supports people in Ukraine and Ukrainian migrants in Hamburg. Our intention is to united Ukrainian activists based in Hamburg. We currently have 174 employees and volunteers working in cooperation with the city of Hamburg.
Help protection seekers in Hamburg
Since the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine, our work has focused on supporting refugees in Hamburg, especially those with special needs. We accompany their families on official visits and visits to the doctor, provide them with material aid and initial equipment, organize accommodation and help with the job search.
We also continue to collect donations in kind, which we deliver to Ukraine. This does not involve large truck deliveries, which are very labor-intensive and costly, but rather individual trips with a transporter with direct handover to the end user, such as the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine. We recently donated two passenger buses to the Mykolayv Municipality, which have already evacuated several hundred refugees.

Donations for Ukrain
The association also collects material donations, which are, among other things, delivered directly to South Ukraine (regions Kherson, Saporischschja, and Odesa) by volunteer helpers. This is not about large truck deliveries, which are very laborious and costly, but rather about individual trips with a transporter with direct handover to the final recipients, such as the “Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine,” “Volunteer Fire Brigade Odesa,” or the association “Women Help Saporischschja.” In 2022, the city administration of Mykolaiv received two passenger buses as a donation, with which several hundred refugees could already be evacuated. A fully equipped fire truck was delivered to the Kherson region. Also, a generator for several small villages in the Kherson regions. Furthermore, DNA tests for the identification of bodies were financed from the association’s donation funds for Bucha and Irpen. Since 2014, we have been looking after a children’s home from the Donbas region (currently, the residents are evacuated in the west of Ukraine) with 120 orphan children.
Integration durch Ehrenamt
Our motto is “Integration through Volunteering”: We employ refugee professionals in our projects and integrate them into the job market. Our team currently consists of 70% Ukrainians who have become naturalized in Germany and 30% current asylum seekers. One goal of the association’s work is to ease the life of refugee fellow citizens from Ukraine in the new environment and to support them in their integration.
